Initiatives

Building Endowment
An ongoing goal of this initiative is to grow our endowment to safeguard the long-term financial position of the School. The income from our endowment supports scholarships, academic programs and salaries for faculty and staff. Gifts to endowment have an immediate and long-term impact on the School’s sustainability. A strong endowment is the hallmark of every great institution, and increasing this valuable resource is a priority of the School to ensure we continue to compete with our peer schools in all respects. In addition, no responsible capital construction project would be complete without a plan for ongoing care and maintenance of the new facilities. Endowment funds, earmarked for this purpose, will ensure that our new and improved facilities will serve our campus for many years to come.

Marshall Family Performing Arts Center - Opened in Winter 2016
Designed by the innovative New York–based firm WEISS/MANFREDI, this 54,000 sq. ft performing arts center creates a new stage for all of the arts, and includes a 600-seat proscenium theatre, a 150-seat studio theater, a dance and choral hall, a video production and digital media lab, two fine arts galleries, an expansive grand lobby, and ancillary teaching and performance spaces. The new building is located on the northeast corner of the campus and is surrounded more than 150 additional parking spaces to provide easy accessibility to the Greenhill community.

Modern Dining Facilities - Opened Fall 2015
The redesigned Greenhill Dining Hall uses reclaimed space that was once occupied by the Zale-Fields Theatre and creates an expanded and improved facility for dining services as well as community gathering spaces. We now have the flexibility to expand seating space and include additional serving stations. The new Dining Hall features a separate dining area for our youngest students as well as a private dining room and meeting space. In addition, we have created a modernized kitchen and servery stations along with renovated bathrooms. This redesigned area completely transforms the dining experience for every student in our community.

New Athletic Fields - Opened Fall 2014
In Fall 2014, we unveiled two new athletic fields that were once located on the northeast corner of campus, but now will reside on the southeast corning to make room for The Marshall Family Performing Arts Center. We used this move as an opportunity to upgrade our fields and facilities and enclose our campus on the corner of Midway and Spring Valley Roads. The two new fields are regulation-sized soccer fields that will be used for a variety of sports, including field hockey, soccer and lacrosse along with softball and baseball at the Middle School level.

Expanded Parking - Opened Fall 2014
An expanded parking area was opened in Fall 2014 on the southeast corner of campus with close proximity of the newly-located athletic fields along with The Marshall Family Performing Arts Center. Changes also include a southbound entrance from Midway Road with access to athletic field parking.
“The performing arts give students a whole range of skills that will take them into the workplace: public speaking, presentation skills, social interaction, the ability to think on their feet. We need a performing arts facility that allows them to be seen and heard with proper lighting and acoustics, a space that will let our students shine,”
