Historic Gift for Building Community Campaign

At the start of the school year, Greenhill officially launched the Building Community Campaign which seeks to raise $52.5 million to build a new Performing Arts and Assembly Center, completely refurbish and modernize the cafeteria, create new playing fields on the corner of Spring Valley and Midway Roads, expand parking across campus, and build our endowment.On January 27, 2014, I had the pleasure of announcing that we had reached a significant milestone as the Marshall Heritage Foundation has now committed an unprecedented aggregate $10 million to the Building Community Campaign. This magnanimous gift is the largest single contribution in Greenhill School's 64-year history! The Marshall Family has been involved at Greenhill for more than three decades. "Greenhill played a key role in shaping me into the person I am today, laying the foundation for my personal and professional success," shared E. Pierce Marshall, Jr. '86, Chair of the Building Community Campaign Steering Committee. "Our family is honored that we can help the School continue to nurture and inspire talented students for generations to come."Thanks to this generous gift, our campaign total is now at $36 million leaving us with $16.5 million to raise by 2016. Reaching this benchmark will allow us to engage our contractor and begin construction this spring. Specifically, work will begin March 1 on the athletic fields on the corner of Spring Valley and Midway Roads which will ensure their completion by August 1, 2014. In May, work will begin on the Performing Arts and Assembly Center slated for its Grand Opening with the start of the new school year in August 2015. Finally, a complete redesign of Zale-Fields Theatre and Crossman Hall will occur during the summer of 2015.
